Daisy Shah Shares Uncomfortable Experience With Filmmaker

Daisy Shah recalls an uncomfortable audition incident with a filmmaker in Mumbai, sharing how it affected her decision and personal boundaries.

Daisy Shah, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in Jai Ho in 2014, recently spoke about an uncomfortable experience she faced early in her career. In an interview with The Free Press Journal, she shared details about an incident that happened in Mumbai when a filmmaker from the South visited the city for auditions.

According to Daisy Shah, she was among a group of 6 to 7 girls who had gone to meet the filmmaker. Each person was being called in individually for the meeting. While recalling the experience, she said, “I was touched badly by one of the filmmakers in South. He had come to Mumbai for casting. We were 6-7 girls who went to meet him. He was meeting everyone of us individually. But I didn’t like because he touched me and he was holding my hand.”

She further explained that she has always been uncomfortable with physical contact, which made the situation more difficult for her. She said, “I’ve always been apprehensive about people touching me. The reason why I don’t get massage done is because I don’t like being touched, even by a woman…by a man is a different story altogether. So that just put me off. I told him ‘I will get back to you’ but I never got back to him.” She chose not to reveal the name of the filmmaker.

Daisy Shah started her career in the film industry as an assistant to choreographer Ganesh Acharya. She later worked as a background dancer in several Bollywood songs before moving into acting. She made her debut as a lead actor in Kannada films and later gained recognition in Bollywood with Jai Ho.

She has since appeared in films like Hate Story 3 and has also taken part in dance reality shows and television appearances. More recently, she was seen in the web series Red Room, which featured actors like Amit Gaur, Anuj Sachdeva, Reena Aggarwal, and Reeva Chaudhary.

Apart from acting, she is active on YouTube, where she shares videos about her daily life. She currently has around 50,000 subscribers. Looking ahead, Daisy Shah will be seen in a new thriller film directed by Palash Muchhal, where she will star alongside Shreyas Talpade.
