Dhadak 2: Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s picture going viral from the sets

The excitement has been palpable, as Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi would be seen in the much-awaited romantic drama “Dhadak 2”. A sequel to the 2018 film “Dhadak”, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, “Dhadak 2” is taking a bold new direction by adapting the critically acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. This would give a thematic turn to the romance, which reflects casteist prejudice. That will add value to the socio-political content of the movie.

The first look from the set is already doing its job. According to reports, Triptii and Siddhant have been shooting at Somaiya Vidyavihar University in Maharashtra. Found in the collage setting, wearing a college-like setting in a viral social media picture, Triptii wearing a chic printed top paired with jeans and Siddhant ruggedly disheveled, viewers cannot wait to see the sizzle between these two talented actors, especially considering Triptii has had an upward swing in her career this year 2024.

Triptii Dimri has had the busiest year for herself with big films releasing in varied genres. She shared screen space with Ranbir Kapoor in Animal, Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk in Bad Newz, and led comedy Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video with Rajkummar Rao. She ended the year with a film in horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which hit the theatres on Diwali. Her adaptability in combination with the roster of productions has placed her firmly in the firmament of actresses with great scope.

Meanwhile, Siddhant Chaturvedi, who created great interest in the movie Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, is back on screen in 2024 with the action thriller Yudhra alongside Malavika Mohanan and Raghav Juyal. Though his performance received mixed reviews, casting him in Dhadak 2 has meant that he has earned himself a new romantic lead and one that fans are definitely looking forward to.

Dhadak 2, which was initially lined up to hit theaters on November 22, 2024, now looks set for a release in February 2025. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions along with Umesh KR Bansal, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa and Somen Mishra this film looks like it would be some fresh romance, drama, and social commentary churned out.
