Bollywood star Ranveer Singh recently attended the closing ceremony of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, ahead of the release of his highly anticipated film Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar. At the ceremony, Ranveer promoted the film and emphasized his hope to showcase Indian cinema on the global stage.
During the event, a love song from the film, Gehra Hua, was screened for the audience. Speaking after the screening, Ranveer explained that while the trailer and teaser could not be shown due to the film’s violent content, the song provided a glimpse into the film’s emotional depth. He said, “Aditya Dhar’s intention was to take an Indian movie to the world. Like China had its moment with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Korea with Parasite, we hope this will be counted as a great instalment in the international cinematic genre. We believe this is India’s moment on the global stage.”

Ranveer highlighted the scale and ambition of the project, adding, “With full intention and all heart, blood, sweat, and tears, we have made this movie. It’s a very complex story but with a whole lot of visual spectacle. Post-COVID, we realized that to bring audiences to theatres, the film had to promise a grand cinematic experience. That has been our attempt—a large canvas with an intriguing tale, and I am proud to present it to the world on December 5.”
Dhurandhar is helmed by Aditya Dhar, who has also written and produced the film. The movie features a stellar ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles, along with Sara Arjun. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the film is being touted as one of the most ambitious Indian cinematic ventures of the year. With its combination of high-octane action, visual spectacle, and a layered narrative, Dhurandhar is poised to make a significant mark both domestically and internationally.
