Hansika Motwani has spoken about the ongoing discussions around her separation from Sohael Khaturiya. In a recent interview, she addressed the attention on her personal life and made it clear that she does not plan to explain the situation publicly.
Talking about the online chatter, Hansika said that people were mainly looking for attention grabbing stories. She chose not to respond to the rumours and added that she is at peace with her decisions. She said, “People wanted clickbait, they got it. They wanted headlines, they got it. I have never clarified it, nor will I, because it doesn’t matter to me. It’s fine. I have no regrets. It’s better to get off the train if you got onto the wrong train than suffer. I have immense support from my family. I have no regrets. I am very happy where I am,”
She also shared that her family stood by her during a difficult phase. According to her, both her mother and brother encouraged her to choose what felt right. She recalled, “Both my mother and my brother were like, ‘If you are not comfortable, don’t go through it.’ And they have seen me in a very dark space—a very dark space. I am a very happy, jolly person. For me to go into a dark space, it was kind of alarming. So they were like, ‘Whatever you decide.’ And honestly, till today, no one knows what happened between the two of us, and it’s the best. I always say that what happens between two people is known only to them. There is nothing that another person can say or comment about.”
Hansika and Sohael got married in December 2022 in a grand ceremony at Mundota Fort and Palace. Over time, there were reports suggesting problems in their marriage. These rumours became stronger when Hansika removed several pictures with Sohael from her social media, though she did not comment on it then.
Recent reports have stated that the couple approached the court for a mutual divorce and decided not to seek alimony. It has also been reported that they had frequent disagreements, which made it difficult for them to continue living together. According to these reports, they have been living separately since July 2, 2024.
Through her recent statement, Hansika has made it clear that she prefers to keep personal matters private and focus on her own well being.
