Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla is currently enjoying a proud family moment as her son Arjun Mehta has successfully graduated from the prestigious Columbia University in the United States. The actress recently shared happy moments from the graduation ceremony on social media, and fans quickly filled the comments section with congratulatory messages for the young graduate.
Juhi attended the convocation ceremony with her husband Jay Mehta and daughter Jahnavi Mehta. In one of the pictures shared online, Juhi was seen standing proudly beside Arjun, who looked smart in Columbia University’s famous light blue graduation gown and cap. Another clip showed Arjun celebrating with his classmates by throwing his graduation cap into the air after the ceremony.
The actress also shared a special achievement of her son in the caption. She revealed that Arjun has been inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society, which is considered one of the oldest and most respected academic honour societies in the United States. Membership in the society is given only to students with outstanding academic performance and excellent grades.
This is not the first proud graduation moment for Juhi and her family. In 2023, her daughter Jahnavi also graduated from Columbia University with excellent results. Fans have often praised Juhi and her husband for keeping their children grounded despite belonging to one of India’s well known celebrity families.
Juhi had earlier spoken about how her children are not very interested in watching her films. In an old interview, she revealed that her son Arjun once refused to watch her romantic movies because he found it awkward seeing his mother romancing on screen. She shared that even when her husband suggested they watch Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke together, Arjun politely declined after learning it was a romantic film. According to Juhi, her children mostly enjoyed watching her performances in films like Main Krishna Hoon and Chalk n Duster.
Juhi Chawla started her acting career with Sultanat in 1986 and later became a major Bollywood star after the success of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Over the years, she became one of the most loved actresses in Hindi cinema. In recent years, she has appeared in projects like The Railway Men, Sharmaji Namkeen and Hush Hush.
