A couple of months back, it was announced with much fanfare that Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan were coming together for former's home production FUGLY. Well, the results would be seen on screen today, what with their special song-n-dance number from the film being out.
This is the song which Yo Yo Honey Singh has composed and rendered for the film. A groovy fun number which also features the young starcast from the film, 'Yeh Fugly Fugly Kya Hai' sees Akshay and Salman come together to add star value to the film which primarily comprises of newcomers.
Not many know though that this is one of the first songs that Yo Yo Honey Singh had created in Bollywood before he became a household name across the nation.
Smiles Kabir Sadanand, the film's director, 'It was more than two years ago when I was conceptualizing the film. I hadn't even gone to Akshay sir then and the cast too was not in place. I knew Honey Singh though and we came together to collaborate on the music. We even went through the script together and this is how the songs came into place. This was before he was THE Honey Singh that we know of him today.'
While chartbuster songs in films like COCKTAIL, SON OF SARDAAR, KHILADI 786, CHENNAI EXPRESS, BOSS, YAARIYAN and very recently RAGINI MMS 2 followed, the ones that Honey Singh had created for FUGLY remained untouched.
'When I played them to Akshay sir, he was hooked. I am told that he used to play them on loop in his car while commuting,' smiles Kabir, 'I had to make sure that the video lived up to his great interest in the music. The team worked extra hard to make it special with Salman sir joining in too.'
