Kajol and Prabhu Deva reunite for an action film after 27 Years

Kajol has signed an action film co-starring Prabhu Deva, marking their reunion on screen after 27 years.

Kajol, a veteran Bollywood actress, continues to defy age and experiment with various genres, remaining relevant in the industry even after three decades. With three films lined up for release this year, Kajol has added another project to her impressive slate. According to Peepingmoon.com ,she has signed an action film co-starring Prabhu Deva, marking their reunion on screen after 27 years.

Their previous collaboration, Rajiv Menon’s 1997 Tamil love triangle Minsara Kanavu, was a silver jubilee success, running for 216 days in Chennai theaters. The film, also starring Arvind Swamy, was later released in a Hindi-dubbed version as Sapnay and is still remembered for its classic song Chanda Re.

The yet-untitled film is being directed by National Award-winning Tamil filmmaker Cheran, known for critically acclaimed movies like Autograph (2004), Vetri Kodi Kattu (2000), and Thavamai Thavamirundhu (2005). A South Indian distributor is producing the film, with G.K. Vishnu, known for his work on Jawan, serving as the cinematographer.

Kajol has swiftly moved on to this project after completing her first-ever horror film, Maa, which was wrapped up last week and is aiming for a theatrical release later this year. Her impressive lineup also includes Netflix’s Do Patti with Kriti Sanon and Dharma Productions’ Sarzameen with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Prabhu Deva, meanwhile, will next be seen in Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated sci-fi actioner, The Greatest of All Time.
