Keerthy Suresh made her Bollywood debut via the film Baby John. At her recent Mumbai trip, the interaction that she had with the press saw her, however, a bit awkward. The south superstar has made quite a name for herself, being successful in Tamil and Telugu films, and she is now working on cementing her position with Hindi-speaking crowds.

On Thursday night, she posed for photographers in her denim attire. However, a reporter mistakenly referred to her as “Kriti” and Keerthy was quick to say, “Kriti nahi, Keerthy.”
Things took a turn for the worst when some reporters called her “dosa,” a title often used to stereotype South Indian actors among Bollywood paparazzi. This really put off Keerthy, and she firmly shot back, “Keerthy dosa nahi, Keerthy Suresh. Aur dosa mujhe pasand hai (I am not Keerthy dosa; I am Keerthy Suresh. But I like dosa.)”
Baby John, directed by Kalees, is the first film of Keerthy in Hindi. The movie also features Varun Dhawan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff. Although it is her debut in Bollywood, Keerthy has already made a name for herself in South Indian movies with Mahanati, Sarkar, Thaanaa Serumda Koottam, and Nenu Local. She also won a National Award for Best Actress for her part in Mahanati (2018).
On a personal note, she got married to her longtime boyfriend, Antony Thattil, this month. The couple married in Goa on December 12, 2024, blending Tamil, Brahmin, and Christian wedding traditions.
Keerthy’s poised response to the paparazzi shows determination to be recognized for her own individuality as she is carving her own niche in Bollywood.
