Manish Gupta: RAHASYA is completely fictional & not based on Arushi Talwar murder case

RAHASYA, an upcoming film starring Kay Kay Menon, Tisca Chopra and Ashish Vidyarthi, is all set to release on 30th January, 2015. But according to the film’s director Manish Gupta, the film is not based on the Arushi Talwar murder case, which was in the news for a long time.

Says the filmmaker, ”RAHASYA isn’t based on the Arushi Talwar murder case. It’s a completely fictitious story based on my own imagination.”

Interestingly, the upcoming Irrfan and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer NYODDA, directed by Meghna Gulzar, is officially based on the Arushi Talwar murder case. Ask Manish if he is apprehensive about the film and he says, ”Not at all. As I said, my movie is a fictitious so it doesn’t matter to me if another film is based on a particular case.”

RAHASYA’s plot is based on an urban doctor couple living in Mumbai whose only child, an 18-year-old is murdered inside their apartment.
