January, the first month of the year is usually considered to be dull in terms of box-office returns for the film industry. With the winter vacations and New Year and Christmas festivities over and severe cold wave conditions prevailing in almost half the country, the month does not see many top line producers and actors releasing their films.

However, this year will be different. There are quite a few interesting and even top banner films in line for release in January.
Starting with Arshad Warsi and Soha Ali Khan’s MR. JOE B. CARVALHO, the film sees Arshad in his much loved comic style.
Next week, that is 10th January, its Arshad Warsi once again, this time with ‘Khalujaan’ Naseeruddin Shah and ex- super starni Madhuri Dixit and acclaimed Huma Qureshi in the sequel to the hit, ISHQIYA, titled DEDH ISHQIYA. With good hype and steady promotions, the film is a sure shot winner.
Another film that releases on 10th January is T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife’s Divya Khosla Khosla’s debut directorial venture, YAARIYAN. The film boasts of hit music and its sustained promotions and with youth as its target audience YAARIYAN is likely to succeed at the ticket window.
One cannot help but mention veteran director Suneel Darshan’s KARLE PYAAR KARLE, the launch pad of his strapping, handsome son, Shiv Darshan which is all set to release on 17th January. Side by side we also have Nagesh Kukunoor’s LAKSHMI, Nawazuddin Siddique starrer MISS LOVELY that release on the same day.
January 24 will see box-office favourite Salman Khan back in action mould in Sohail Khan Productions’ JAI HO. No need for predicting the outcome of this highly anticipated movie, as everything that Salman touches turns to gold (we mean 100 crore plus), and one is sure that JAI HO, which marks the return of Salman after a gap of almost one year will surely set box-office on fire.
Last but not the least is Abhay Deol’s debut production ONE BY TWO and TOTAL SIYAPAA starring Ali Zafar. Indeed actor-singer Ali Zafar has always managed to surprise all with his films which have always proved to be entertaining and as a result profitable. While going with Abhay Deol’s impressive past record, we do expect ONE BY TWO to stun us once it releases. So one expects Ali Zafar to work his magic in TOTAL SIYAPAA and Abhay Deol to charm us and bring January to a rollicking end!
