Patralekhaa Slams Body Shaming After Postpartum Appearance

Patralekhaa responds to body shaming after childbirth, explaining postpartum changes and urging kindness while balancing motherhood and her professional work.

Actress and producer Patralekhaa has responded strongly to body shaming comments she received after attending the screening of the film Toaster, which stars her husband Rajkummar Rao. The actress, who gave birth to her first child in November 2025, addressed the insensitive remarks made about her physical appearance and called for more understanding and kindness.

During her recent public appearance, some paparazzi pages and social media users focused on her body rather than the event itself. This led to a wave of comments that she found unfair and hurtful. Responding to the criticism, Patralekhaa shared a message explaining the reality of her situation after pregnancy and childbirth.

She wrote, “Pap pages! What’s happened to me!? is that I have just given birth! Yes I have gained the weight, which seems like an unnatural phenomenon to you all. I have not sat and eaten a mountain, I just delivered a baby and produced two films simultaneously which are not easy jobs,”

She further added, “If I could, I would not be this way. But that’s how my body has reacted to pregnancy. For God’s sake please learn to be a little kind,”

Her response highlighted the physical and emotional changes women go through after childbirth. She also pointed out that she has been managing both motherhood and professional responsibilities at the same time.

Patralekhaa was last seen in the film Phule, where she played Savitribai Phule. Her performance received appreciation, and she has also won several awards for the role. Alongside acting, she has been working on her production house, which recently released its first project, Toaster, on Netflix. The film, also featuring Sanya Malhotra, has received a positive response.

Patralekhaa married Rajkummar Rao on November 15, 2021. On their fourth wedding anniversary, the couple welcomed their baby girl. They shared the news with a joint statement that read, “We are over the moon. God has blessed us with a baby girl.”

In January 2026, they introduced their daughter’s name, Parvati Paul Rao, through another post. The statement read, “With folded hands and full hearts, we introduce our greatest blessing. PARVATI PAUL RAO,”
