Re-released in theatres on August 1, the updated version of the film replaces its original tragic climax with a surprising and emotional twist: Kundan (played by Dhanush) survives.
The reimagined ending has struck a powerful chord, particularly in Tamil Nadu, where the film was released as Ambikapathy. Viral videos on social media show packed theatres erupting with cheers, applause, and even tears as audiences witnessed Kundan opening his eyes, very much alive.
