After seven years of failed attempts to bring Siddharth Anand and Rohit Dhawan’s Rambo remake to life, the project has been shelved due to financial constraints and the waning box office appeal of its lead actor, Tiger Shroff. Despite Siddharth Anand’s interest in repackaging the project, Rohit Dhawan has chosen to move on.

The director of *Desi Boyz* spent four years on the Rambo adaptation, but it never progressed beyond pre-production. According to Peepingmoon.com, Dhawan is now teaming up with Sajid Nadiadwala for a new project. This marks a return to Nadiadwala’s banner for Dhawan, who previously collaborated with him on the 2016 film *Dishoom* starring John Abraham and Varun Dhawan.

Dhawan’s new venture is a two-hero action comedy, though it is not a sequel to *Dishoom*. Instead, it is described as being in the vein of the popular 1997 comedy *Deewana Mastana*, which starred Govinda and Anil Kapoor. Currently in the writing stage, production is planned for next year, with casting to be finalized once the script is complete.

This untitled action comedy joins an exciting slate at Sajid Nadiadwala’s production house, which recently released *Chandu Champion* featuring Kartik Aaryan and Kabir Khan to critical acclaim. The banner also has four movies in various stages of production, including *Sikandar* with Salman Khan and AR Murugadoss, *Housefull 5* starring Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh, *Sanki* featuring Ahan Shetty and Pooja Hegde, and *Arjun Ustara* directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, expected to star Kartik Aaryan.
