Bollywood actor Salman Khan has reportedly received a new death threat, demanding a ransom of Rs 2 crore. The threat was communicated via a message to the Mumbai Traffic Police, warning that the actor would be killed if the payment was not made. In response, the police in Mumbai’s Worli district have launched an investigation and registered a case against an unidentified individual.
Recently, authorities arrested a 20-year-old man, Mohammad Tayyab (also known as Gurfan Khan), in Noida in connection with this threat. The accused allegedly made threats not only against Salman Khan but also against Zeeshan Siddique, the son of late politician Baba Siddique, who was killed earlier this month. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for Baba Siddique’s murder, citing his connections with Khan as a motive.
This incident marks another chapter in a series of threats directed at Salman Khan. In 2022, a threatening letter was found near his residence, and in March 2023, he received an email from an individual linked to the gang. Additionally, earlier this year, two people attempted to trespass into his farmhouse in Panvel using fake identities. The police have arrested multiple individuals related to the ongoing investigations into these threats and the murder case.
Amid death threats to Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan recently purchased a new white Mercedes Benz GLS car, valued at Rs 1.57 crore, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras. A video of the car’s special puja has surfaced, showing a priest performing rituals while a garland adorned the vehicle and a large bow rested on the bonnet. However, Salim and his sons were not present during the ceremony.
This new purchase comes at a tense time, as Salman Khan has received multiple death threats in recent weeks. Recently, a 20-year-old man from Noida was arrested for issuing threats to both Salman and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique. The accused initially sent a threatening message to Siddique’s helpline and followed up with a voice call, leading to an FIR being filed at Worli Police Station.
Adding to the unsettling situation, a message demanding Rs 2 crore and threatening Salman’s life was received by the Mumbai Police’s Traffic Control Room, prompting further investigations. This string of threats is reportedly linked to members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, stemming from Salman’s past involvement in the blackbuck poaching case.
Previously, Salim Khan had also faced threats, including a letter directed at Salman during one of his walks and an incident involving a woman in a burka who threatened him while mentioning Lawrence Bishnoi. The ongoing threats against the Khan family highlight the serious nature of their current predicament.
