Veteran Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor has reacted strongly after false rumours about his death started spreading widely on social media. The fake reports shocked fans and created confusion online. Soon after the rumours went viral, the actor shared a video message on Instagram to clear the air and confirm that he is safe and healthy.
In the video, Shakti Kapoor directly addressed the rumours and requested people not to believe or forward such false information. He said, “My death news is all fake. I am healthy and happy. Please ignore it.”
The actor also expressed disappointment over the spread of fake news and said he plans to take legal action against the people responsible. “I am going to do a cyber complain about it. But this is not good. It’s not good,” he said while speaking in the video message.
This is not the first time a Bollywood celebrity has faced such a situation. Last year, veteran actor Raza Murad also became a victim of fake death rumours online. A social media post falsely claimed that he had passed away and also suggested that despite spending years in the film industry, nobody remembered him. Following the incident, Raza Murad filed a complaint at Andheri Police Station.
Speaking to ANI at that time, Murad had said, “This should stop now. It is not only about me. Celebrities are often declared dead while they are still alive. This is wrong, and whoever does this should be punished.”
Shakti Kapoor remains one of the most popular faces in Hindi cinema. He became famous for his comedy roles as well as negative characters during the 1980s and 1990s. He is especially remembered for his work with late actors Asrani and Kader Khan. Some of his well known films include Raja Babu, Andaz Apna Apna, ChaalBaaz, Coolie No. 1, Judwaa, Satte Pe Satta and Bol Radha Bol.
The actor was last seen in Mere Husband Ki Biwi directed by Mudassar Aziz. Before that, he appeared in Animal directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna.
