Yami Gautam is filled with joy and pride as her father, filmmaker Mukesh Gautam, received his first National Film Award at the 70th National Film Awards. Mukesh Gautam’s film Baghi Di Dhee won the award for Best Punjabi Film. The prestigious awards ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, with President Droupadi Murmu honoring the recipients.
Though Yami couldn’t attend the ceremony in person, she watched it on television and shared the proud moment on Instagram. She posted a video of her father receiving the award and expressed her emotions, which she said were too overwhelming to describe in words. Yami praised her father’s unwavering dedication and hard work throughout his career, calling him an inspiration and a source of pride for their family. In her heartfelt message, she also acknowledged the contributions of Rabindra Narayan and Jasraj Singh Bhatti for their collaboration on the film.
She captioned the post, “Very emotional moment as my father, Shri Mukesh Gautam , received his first National Award, as a director, for his film – ‘Baghi Di Dhee’ . In addition to celebrating her father’s success, Yami is also embracing motherhood. She and her husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar, recently welcomed their son Vedavid on May 10, a moment they described as a blessing. The couple announced the news with a collaborative post on Instagram, seeking kind blessings for their baby.”
Yami’s latest film appearance was in the political action thriller Article 370, where she starred alongside Priyamani and Arun Govil.
