At the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), Taylor Swift made history by becoming the most-decorated winner in the event’s history, bringing her career total to 49 BBMA trophies. The Anti-Hero hitmaker had a spectacular night, winning 10 awards, including the prestigious titles of Top Artist, Top Female Artist, and Top Album. Among her other wins were Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, and Top Radio Songs Artist, as well as honors for Top Billboard Global 200 Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album for The Tortured Poets Department.
Swift’s dominance at the event cemented her place as a musical icon, setting a new record that will be hard to surpass.
Meanwhile, Zach Bryan, the country music sensation, followed closely behind with 18 nominations and took home five awards, continuing his impressive rise in the music world. On the other hand, Sabrina Carpenter, despite having nine nominations, walked away empty-handed.
Other notable moments included Benson Boone, a first-time nominee, who took home Top 100 Song for his hit single, and Chappell Roan, who won Top New Artist.
The ceremony, hosted by comedian Michelle Buteau, featured performances from a diverse array of artists, including Shaboozey, Megan Moroney, Linkin Park, Fuerza Regida, Jelly Roll, and Stray Kids, each delivering memorable performances across various genres.
