BTS leader Kim Namjoon aka RM has a documentary titled Right People, Wrong Place coming to a theatre near you soon. The BTS: Permission To Dance on Stage singer’s official character poster has been released ahead of its release. The upcoming documentary, which is based on the K-pop idol’s second solo album that was released in May of this year titled Right Place, Wrong Person, will give fans an inside look into his dedication and hard work for the project.
BigHit made a post through BTS’ X (formerly Twitter) on November 13, announcing the initial character poster for RM’s documentary Right People, Wrong Place. Its theatrical release is limited worldwide on December 5. The documentary opened at the BIFF Open Cinema section before its release, making history as the first K-pop documentary to be officially invited to the Busan International Film Festival.

However, BTS leader RM wrote it when he tried to make his second solo album and Lee Seok Jun directed the documentary. It will allow the view to see behind the scenes of RM as he wrestles with personal and up-and-down moments while reaching global stardom and working on his album.
According to the film summary found on its official site, “A film that captures artist RM’s process in creating his second off-solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person over the period of eight months while exposing and documenting indefinitely all worries of a man named Kim Namjoon and what he listens to and loves. This is the moment when RM, or simply Kim Namjoon for the first time steps out and opens the door to voice at his fans.”
Ticket Booking Scheduled the first round on November 6. Tickets sale for India will start on November 20, with the second round commencing. Finally, tickets for Japan go on sale starting November 22 and the doc debuts in Japan this January. Immediately, the pre-sale tickets were sold out and this only proves how big the stardom of RM is while fans aka ARMYs are just excited to see his upcoming project.
What you might not know: A few years before going solo, RM dropped his first mixtapes RM and Mono, respectively. The K-pop idol dropped his first solo album, Indigo, with title track Wild Flowers back in 2022. Fans were fond of the album, and it was also a commercial success. He followed it up with his second solo album Right Place, Wrong Person in 2024.
In the meantime, RM began his mandatory South Korean military enlistment for service on December 11, 2023. So far, the BTS leader has served 60 percent of his time and is set for release by June 2025 alongside Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook.
