Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee have officially been confirmed as the lead actors in the upcoming K-drama My Youth. This collaboration, announced on August 21 by production company HighZium Studio, marks a significant project in the romance genre. The series is penned by Park Si Hyun, the writer behind the popular drama Run On (JTBC), and will be directed by Lee Sang Yeop, known for his work on Yumi’s Cells, Shopaholic Louis, and Familiar Wife.
Song Joong Ki, who recently starred in Reborn Rich, will portray Sunwoo Hae, a former child actor turned novelist and florist. His character is on the brink of starting a new chapter in his life after enduring a turbulent journey marred by the greed of adults that disrupted his artistic career. Chun Woo Hee, known for her role in The 8 Show, will play Sung Je Yeon, a team leader at Feel Entertainment who comes from a wealthy background but has faced significant setbacks. She is determined to succeed on her own and pulls Sunwoo out of his isolation to help achieve her ambitions.

Helmed by #YumisCells’ director Lee Sang-yeob and #RunOn’s scriptwriter Park Is-hyun, broadcast in 2025.”
The series will explore the intertwining lives of Sunwoo and Je Yeon, focusing on their individual growth and the transformations they undergo. While the exact premiere date and broadcasting network for My Youth are still under wraps, the drama is expected to air sometime in 2025.
There are also reports that actress Lee Joo Myung, known for her role in Twenty-Five Twenty-One, was in talks to join the cast, although more details are yet to be confirmed. Fans are eagerly anticipating further updates on this highly anticipated series.
