South Korean actor Song Jae Rim died in his apartment in Seoul’s Seongdong District on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was only 39 years old at the time of death. His death cause remains unknown; the police are still investigating. According to the report, a two-page letter was found at the scene.

According to reports, Song Jae Rim’s funeral is set for November 14th; the memorial space is said to be arranged by the family, in the Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital Funeral Hall. His younger sister is said to be the chief mourner.

Song Jae Rim began his career as an actor in 2009 with the movie Actresses, but it was after his portrayal as the vigilant bodyguard Lord Kim Jae-woon in the very popular 2012 K-drama The Moon Embracing the Sun, that his fame soared. He began getting more offers for television through that particular recognition received in that series. He was in other popular shows like Two Weeks (2013) where he acted a cold-blooded murderer and further down in  Unkind Ladies (2015), Secret Mother (2018), I Wanna Hear Your Song (2019), and Café Minamdang (2022). His last appearances feature in My Military Valentine (2024) and Queen Woo (2024).

In addition to the success he achieved as an actor, Song Jae Rim was also in high demand for appearing on the reality show We Got Married Season 4 with actress Kim So-eun. Fans and the K-drama business as a whole have been left in shock and mourn the loss of this young man.
