Noah Wyle apparently never fully leaves doctor mode behind. The actor, who stars as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch on The Pitt, reportedly sprang into action after co-star Laëtitia Hollard accidentally injured herself while filming the series. Speaking on Warner Bros. TV’s A Lot More podcast, Hollard shared the surprisingly intense moment that left her elbow “covered with blood” during what was supposed to be a very simple scene. The actress explained she was filming a sequence inside the show’s busy control hub set while portraying shy nursing graduate Emma Nolan.
During the scene, Emma had to squeeze past Wyle’s character to grab a notebook. Hollard said she repeatedly bumped her elbow against part of the set while trying to stay in character.
“At first I brushed it off,” she explained. But after another take, she suddenly noticed blood on the counter nearby.
“I literally said, ‘Who left fake blood here?’” Hollard recalled.
That’s when Wyle quickly realized the blood was actually hers.
“He goes, ‘I think you nicked yourself,’” she said. “I looked at my elbow, and it was covered with blood.”
According to Hollard, Wyle immediately reassured her and calmly took control of the situation.
“Noah was like, ‘Don’t worry, this is the best place for this to happen,’” she joked, referencing the fact that the series revolves around emergency medicine.
Hollard said Wyle then guided her away from the set chaos and personally began helping treat the injury.
“He brought me to a corner, brought out gauze and disinfectant,” she said. “I was like, ‘Wait, I’m in The Pitt right now.’”
The actress laughed while remembering how surreal the situation felt, especially since Wyle has spent decades playing doctors on television dating back to ER.
Eventually, an actual nurse on set arrived to take over treatment, at which point Wyle reportedly joked, “Not me. I’m pretending.”
The behind-the-scenes story has quickly become another fan-favorite moment connected to the hit HBO Max drama, which has earned praise for its realism and intense hospital atmosphere.
Since premiering in 2025, The Pitt has become one of HBO Max’s biggest breakout successes and has already been renewed for another season.
Fans online have also praised Wyle for the story, joking that after playing doctors for so many years, he practically became one in real life.
