Ariana Grande Kisses Cynthia Erivo’s Hand During London Performance, Fans React

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo reunited on stage in London for a sweet duet, appearing to put ongoing feud rumours to rest with their emotional performance.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have once again appeared to put rumours about tension between them to rest. The two Wicked co stars reunited on stage during Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour in London over the weekend, where they performed together at the O2 Arena. The pair sang “For Good” from the 2025 sequel Wicked: For Good, along with Barbra Streisand’s 1991 song “Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again.” Videos from the performance shared by fans on social media showed Grande and Erivo smiling at each other throughout the duet. At one point, Grande also kissed Erivo’s hand.

The performance quickly attracted attention online, with fans praising the way the two singers performed together. One person commented, “We love the way Cyn and Ari’s voices blend together, they’re soulmates 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↔️.”

Another fan wrote, “I would be bawling my eyes out omg.”

Grande, 33, played Glinda in the 2024 musical film Wicked and its 2025 sequel, while Erivo, 39, played Elphaba. The two developed a close friendship while working on the films and were frequently seen holding hands during their promotional appearances.

Erivo previously explained that their physical connection was simply part of their friendship. “We walk hand-in-hand very often,” Erivo shared on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in December 2024. “Like, if we’re not walking hand-in-hand, we’ll find each other somewhere.”

“I think we assume that physical connection can only be romantic,” she continued. “Sometimes you can’t say anything and you’re in a room … it’s just like a squeeze of a hand and that’s sometimes how she and I communicate.”

Grande later discussed their friendship on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast in November 2025. She explained that she “channel[s] a lot of energy through [her] hands” and said the two had “worked hard to maintain” their relationship after filming ended.

“We’re both so busy but do our best to stay connected in that way and to take care of each other so we can honor the project as much as humanly possible,” Grande added.

Erivo has also defended Grande in public, including during an incident involving a fan at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore last November.

In February, Erivo addressed rumours that she and Grande were secretly romantically involved, calling the speculation “a strange fascination.” She also rejected claims that they were not genuine friends.

In May, Erivo told Variety that she and Grande still text every day. Addressing those who questioned their friendship, she said, “But that’s also because people don’t know me very well. If I’m a friend, then I’m a friend. If I’m not, then I’m not.”

Their latest performance in London has once again put their friendship in the spotlight, with fans focusing on their continued support for each other.
