Badshah has found himself embroiled in controversy after reports claimed that he was fined ₹15,500 for driving on the wrong side of the road in Gurugram on December 15, 2024. The incident allegedly occurred while he was en route to Punjabi singer Karan Aujla’s concert for a scheduled performance. According to these reports, a Mahindra Thar in Badshah’s convoy was found driving illegally, causing public outrage.
However, the popular rapper quickly denied the accusations. Badshah took to Instagram to clarify the situation, stating that he doesn’t own a Mahindra Thar and was not driving that day. He explained that he was a passenger in a white Toyota Vellfire, and the vehicles were being driven responsibly. He humorously added, “Chahe gaadiyan chahe game” (Be it cars or games), alongside a reference to the classic song “Ae Bhai Zara Dekh Ke Chalo” from Mera Naam Joker.
In addition to his social media post, Badshah’s team issued a formal statement dismissing the claims. The statement clarified that Badshah was traveling in a Toyota Vellfire (registration number HR 55 AU 3333), which was driven by a licensed professional driver. The statement also confirmed that none of the vehicles associated with Badshah or his team received fines during the incident.

Further clarification came from Virender Vij, Gurugram’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), who stated that the Mahindra Thar involved in the incident was registered under the name of Dipender Hooda from Panipat. The fine was imposed on Hooda for dangerous and wrong-side driving, not Badshah.
Badshah’s swift response and the release of the statement aim to clear his name from the false allegations.
