Taylor Swift’s final series of shows for the European leg of her Eras tour at Wembley Stadium was a night filled with excitement, surprises, and emotional moments. However, the anticipation for the concert was coupled with a sense of caution due to recent security concerns. Following a terror threat that had caused the cancellation of three shows in Vienna, security measures were significantly heightened at the London venue, adding to the charged atmosphere among fans.
Despite these concerns, Swifties at the stadium were thrilled when they noticed Ed Sheeran among the audience. As the show progressed, Taylor Swift delivered a special treat by performing “Everything Has Changed,” a duet she originally recorded with Sheeran. The crowd erupted with excitement when Swift invited Sheeran on stage to join her, turning the performance into a memorable moment of the night.

Their chemistry was palpable as they sang together, and Swift didn’t stop there. She went beyond the usual two-song surprise set, treating fans to a duet version of Sheeran’s hit single “Thinking Out Loud.” The performance was made even more special as fans’ wristbands lit up in bright green, a nod to the color of Sheeran’s X (Multiply) album cover.
Swift took a moment during the performance to speak fondly of her long-standing friendship with Sheeran, describing him as “one of my best friends in the world, to the point where I feel like he’s a second brother.” She reminisced about their time touring together on the Red tour and expressed her admiration for Sheeran’s work ethic, noting that despite being on his own tour and likely exhausted, he made the effort to join her on stage for this special performance.
Following their heartfelt collaboration, Swift continued to delight fans with a piano mashup of “The Alchemy” and “King of My Heart,” adding to the magical atmosphere of the evening.
The concert marked the first of several shows Swift has scheduled at Wembley Stadium, with performances set for August 16, 17, 19, and 20. After wrapping up this leg of the tour, Swift will continue the Eras tour in North America starting in October, where fans can expect even more surprises and unforgettable performances.
