Barroz, much-awaited directorial debut from Mohanlal, will now hit the screens on 25 December 2024. It is expected to end the year on a high note as it is one of the most expensive Malayalam movies ever made. The buzz in this fantasy epic has already grown due to its unique 3D viewing experience and the star power of Mohanlal.
Advance Booking Update: Till 12 PM IST, the film has sold more than 29,000 tickets across India, garnering a gross collection of ₹48 lakh through pre-sales.

Projected Pre-Sales Total: With two days to go for the release, Barroz is likely to close its opening day pre-sales at ₹2-2.5 crore gross, which could make it Mohanlal’s biggest opener in terms of advance sales.
Opening Day Net Collection: With premium 3D ticket prices and Christmas holiday walk-ins, the movie is expected to collect anything between ₹6.50 crore to ₹8 crore net in India on opening day.
While Barroz gets the Christmas window and the festive feel, it will be a challenge to the continuing success of Marco. However, the premium price for the 3D version and the huge interest among fans of Mohanlal might just work in its favor.
Currently, Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea stands as the biggest opening day for the superstar with a net collection of ₹6.37 crore in 2021. If Barroz goes according to the prediction, it will be well placed to break this record.
Barroz has the advantage of being marketed as a visual spectacle, making it a significant draw for moviegoers during the holiday season. With excitement running high and strong pre-sales figures, it is shaping up to be a promising comeback for Mohanlal after the underwhelming performance of Malaikottai Vaaliban earlier this year. Fans and industry insiders are eagerly awaiting its release to see if it delivers on its grand promise.
