The trailer of Agni, starring Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, and Saiyami Kher, was finally out, and it promises quite an intense and emotionally stirring narrative. Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwanix and directed by Rahul Dholakia, Agni is India’s first film to look into the lives of firefighters, infusing in it great heart-thumping action along with a poignant story of courage and sacrifice.

Trailer Highlights
The trailer, released by Farhan Akhtar on November 21, starts with an innocent scene. Schoolchildren visit a fire station and marvel at the experience. It then shifts to Pratik Gandhi, Vitthal, a dashing firefighter who risks his life to save others from a burning building. Vitthal also suffers from an inability to receive the appreciation he so rightfully deserves. On the other hand, Divyenndu’s character, Samit, is a successful police officer, and he reaps the accolades, rewards, and the frills of a good job.

This disparity deeply hurts Vitthal, who questions the value of his sacrifices. An emotional appeal to his family, while lamenting how no one ever seems to care if he lives through the dangers of his occupation, is heightened at this point by the stark silence of his son as he attempts to answer this question.

Plot Summary
Set against the backdrop of recurrent mysterious and intensifying fires in the city, Agni traces Vitthal’s life and that of his brother-in-law Samit as they unite to face the challenge. The film is an effective comparison between firefighters and police officers. It raises pertinent issues regarding the community’s perception of the professions. It is a tribute to the quiet workers who sometimes stand before the burning inferno sacrificing their lives for the others’ safety.

Cast and Crew
The stellar cast includes Saiyami Kher, Sai Tamhankar, Jitendra Joshi, Udit Arora, and Kabir Shah, alongside the leads. With Pratik Gandhi bringing depth to the role of Vitthal and Divyenndu portraying the charismatic Samit, the film promises powerful performances that highlight both personal and societal challenges.

Written and directed by Rahul Dholakia, Agni will release on Prime Video on December 6 but promises not only high-octane drama but also a heartfelt ode to the unsung hero who is there in the neighbourhood of every city, town, and village. Farhan Akhtar aptly said it in his Instagram post: “Courage, honour and sacrifice, that’s how heroes are made. #AgniTrailer out now. #AgniOnPrime, Dec 6.

Be prepared to be moved to rethink the true meaning of heroism in the cinematic experience.
