The makers of The Great Indian Kapil Show have officially announced the return of its second season. Netflix India shared a promo video featuring the show’s beloved cast, including Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur, and Archana Puran Singh. The video starts with Archana Puran Singh making a “special announcement,” revealing that the show is coming back. She joyfully adds, “On this occasion, we have good news for all of you. Your very own show is coming soon.” The cast is then seen holding placards, each contributing to the announcement of the show’s return.
Netflix India’s post, which included the promo video, teased the new season with the caption, “Ab shanivaar hoga ‘Funnyvaar’ ‘cuz Kapil and gang are coming with double fun and hassi iss baar. Season 2 coming soon! Stay tuned.”
In the first season, The Great Indian Kapil Show featured several high-profile guests, including Ranbir Kapoor along with his mother Neetu and sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, as well as Aamir Khan, Sunny and Bobby Deol, and Vicky and Sunny Kaushal. The show also welcomed the stars of Heeramandi, such as Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh. The season even featured an appearance by international pop star Ed Sheeran.
Kapil Sharma, known for hosting the popular television talk show The Kapil Sharma Show, made his debut in the TV industry with The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (Season 3). He ventured into Bollywood with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and has also starred in a Netflix special and Nandita Das’s film Zwigato.
