The Trunk is a new South Korean show that will see the massively popular actor Gong Yoo appearing alongside Seo Hyun Jin. The main trailer of the show, which gives us a glimpse at what our lead characters have in store, is out before its release. The illusion of what they had is originally a sham marriage but slowly dissipates and becomes real.
The Trunk Main Trailer (Gong Yoo as Han Jeong Won, Seo Hyun Jin as Noh In Ji) Production Team Released on November 12, 2024. The video begins with a police officer having a conversation with Han Jeong Won about an unopened trunk that appears on the beach, and he explains that it belonged to his wife.
Han Jeong Won is confused about what he gets from a fake marriage with the lovely Noh In Ji, but gradually starts feeling insecure and attracted to her. With Noh In Ji in the middle, who had been manipulated into going through with the marriage by his ex-wife, Lee Seo Yeon (Jung Yun Ha), it doesn’t take long before she’s wanting to divorce so soon after, but Noh In Ji isn’t having any of it and challenges her that “Isn’t she afraid the pretend relationship is becoming real?”
It appears that cops are looking into a trunk sans body, and the last few seconds of footage tease this detail with intrigue. On the other hand, Han Jeong Won wonders if it was fate that he would be with Noh In Ji from the start.
In addition, along with the new look, fans got their first official poster for the show that includes its tagline: “Truths and lies, rage and desire. Secret was the name of this film and it told a story about a marriage entwined in secrets.” In their stills, Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin are seen away from each other with vacant looks, illustrating their relationship dynamic as if they are close, but in all actuality, compared to us, perfect strangers still are sooooooo far away.
Noh In Ji (Shin Se Kyung) works for NM, a company that rents out spouses through fixed-term one-year contracts in this adaptation of the novel Trunk by Kim Ryeo Ryeong. Fresh from her fourth contract, In Ji gets matched with her next pairing Han Jeong Won (Jung Soo Jung / Kara), a music producer whose life is scarred by lost love and solitude.
But when a trunk is found in the bottom of a lake bringing secrets to light from within NM and dragging them into a taut stream of mystery that could upend their whole relationship.
Also starring Kim Ji Young and Yoon Seok, the series is directed by Kim Kyu Tae and penned by Park Eun Young, and it has a premiere slot of November 29, 2024.
