0

Former governor of California and Hollywood superstar, Arnold Schwarzenegger has played countless roles on the big screen but now he is stepping into an unfamiliar role that of an advisor to his son Patrick.

Patrick Schwarzenegger is gearing up to play the lead role in MIDNIGHT SUN by director Scott Speer.

The film tells the story of a young girl suffering from an unfamiliar condition that prevents her from being out in the sunlight.

Patrick said, “My dad told me that for the six weeks, this is your family. These are the people that you’re going to rely on. He was like, well, your job is to go out there and perform as the actor. The director is going to be there to help you get to that state of whatever you need to be. And there’s going to be the camera guy there, making sure that the shot’s good. You have the DOP, The cinematographer doing the lighting to make you look good, and all of this. Like, you need to just trust everybody on the crew to do their part. And then together it’ll make a great film.”

Schwarzenegger had a career long rivalry with Sylvester Stallone on who could be the biggest box office hit throughout the prime of both their careers.

Patrick has a large shoe to fill in as Arnold has carved a career out of monstrous successes in THE TERMINATOR series, THE EXPENDABLES series, TRUE LIES AND PREDATOR.

Why Ranveer Singh won’t perform at IPL?

0

Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, who was scheduled to perform at the opening ceremony of the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, won’t shake a leg at the event to avoid aggravating a shoulder injury.

Ranveer had injured his shoulder during a football match. He has been strictly advised by doctors to avoid performing at the cricket tournament’s opening ceremony on April 7.

“After multiple medical checkups, the doctors have strongly advised Ranveer Singh not to perform at this year’s IPL opening ceremony in which he was doing the grand finale act. They feel his high-energy performance would only overstrain his shoulder and aggravate the injury,” the actor’s spokesperson said in a statement.

However, Ranveer’s film shoot has not been disrupted.

“Ranveer will continue to shoot for ‘Gully Boy’ as per its shooting schedule which is not physically strenuous since only performance-based talkie scenes are left to be shot,” the spokesperson added.

John Abraham v/s Kriarj : The war turns ugly, both seeking legal course

0

The tussle between actor/producer John Abraham and Kriarj Entertainment has taken an ugly turn with claims, counter claims and legal notices.

The buzz in the market was strong that things are not well between John Abraham and KriArj Entertainment, the co-producers of his film – PARMANU : THE STORY OF POKHRAN. Now, it has been learnt that the release of the film is delayed till further notice and John Abraham has terminated his contract with the studio and intends to release it under his banner. On the other hand Prernaa Arora from Kriarj Entertainment claims she is seeking legal recourse stating that Abraham hasn’t fulfilled his end of the bargain, and termed the termination “illegal”.

In a statement released by John Abraham through his agency to the media, the actor has refuted Kriarj claims by saying the termination is valid and legal.

The statement reads, “Termination of the agreement by us is valid and legal..Kriarj has committed material breaches which left us with no choice but to terminate in the interest of the film..We would like to state that this extreme step has been taken by us after days of trying to resolve the issues at hand in the best interest of the release of the film.”.

“We have fulfilled our commitment at every stage of this project and intimated Kriarj in writing from time to time..We have been waiting and asking for payments at every stage..our payments have either been delayed or we have received wrong UTR number. Cheque payments have been stopped time and again. Delay in payments / non-payments, have caused delays in the post production work after the film’s principal shoot was completed in time and on schedule last year.”

“Despite repeated follow up, the distribution plan for the film has not been shared and there has been no transparency in their dealings with third parties. We have till date not been privy to any signed contracts of third parties with Kriarj, if any.
JA Entertainment has time and again sat on the marketing campaign and the dates have been pushed at least 3 times, thanks to delayed payments. Not only that Kriarj without our approval has gone out and made statements giving false reasons for the delay.”

“Our repeated follow-ups have only been met with false promises to settle the issue, thus wasting crucial time on the project. The industry knows of the track record of Kriarj..There has been a similar incident in the past with another film where they have done the same thing.”

Given the above, and in the best interest of the film, we have terminated our contract with KriArj Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and will soon announce the release schedule.”

The statement further adds that, “ Any future attempts by Kriarj to jeopardize the film or defame the production house and / or the film, like they have done in the past with other films, will compel us to initiate legal proceedings against them”.

Kriarj on the other hand has responded to the trade notice issued by JA Entertainment claiming termination of their agreement with us for the film PARMANU : THE STORY OF POKHRAN is illegal and invalid through a statement released to media which reads as follows.

“Our rights in the film as a joint producer/presenter and owner of all rights are fully secured, we have always fulfilled all our commitments till date and have clear intent to continue doing so. JA Ent has also always been aware that Zee Studios are KriArj’s partners in the Film from very early stages as co-producers and also the acquirers of the Overseas theatrical, digital, satellite and music rights of the Film”.

“JA Ent has till date not fulfilled its commitment of completing and intimating us of the completion the film and is fraudulently trying to delay the release of the film thereby causing huge monetary losses and damage to our reputation. We had all our plans of promoting the film and a wide release in place and were to kick start the campaign shortly for which also there has been substantial expenses already done. JA Ent has repeatedly put a spoke in the wheel and derailed the marketing campaign which is hurting the prospects of the film and is the cause of losses being continuously caused to us.”

“After making substantial payments to them JA Ent has kept making unreasonable demands for money from us which are completely outside the scope of their initial understanding with us. his has made it abundantly clear that they are trying to defraud us by now attempting to wriggle out of a legally binding contract with us which is not only unlawful but also unethical.”
We hope better sense prevails on JA Ent as we have been only looking towards the interest of the Film and the best possible release. It goes without saying that any one dealing with the film or any of its rights through JA Ent will be doing so at their own risk and peril and will also have to face legal consequences. We have already instructed our attorneys who will be moving the necessary authorities soon for seeking justice against the breaches committed by JA Ent and its promoter Mr John Abraham.”

This is what Diana Penty has to say about Sonakshi Sinha

0

Actress Diana Penty says she isn’t really affected by the delay in the release of her film “PARMANU – THE STORY OF POKHRAN” as she believes in moving on and doing other things.

“PARMANU…” was scheduled to release on December 8 last year. Its release date got pushed to February 23, 2018 and then to April 6. If one goes by latest reports, the movie, which also stars John Abraham, has now been pushed to May.

How does it affect Diana?

“It doesn’t really. You move on and do other things. Wait until it actually releases. I am looking forward to it. I really am,” Diana told IANS.

The former model will be sporting a military look in the film based on the nuclear tests conducted at Pokhran, Rajasthan in 1998.

“I thought that it was an important story to tell to the rest of the country. It’s about how India became a nuclear power. It’s a part of history.

“For that reason, I wanted to be a part of this film. When I read the script, I just loved it. It was a thrilling ride,” she said.

She is also excited about HAPPY PHIRR BHAG JAYEGI, which will star Sonakshi Sinha as well.

“I am looking forward to that as well. I am yet to shoot my part with Sonakshi but we have met a few times. She seems like a fun and bubbly person. I am sure she will be fun on the set as well,” Diana said about the film, which is a sequel to the 2016 hit film HAPPY BHAG JAYEGI.

“The script the way it is… it is as much of a laugh riot as the first part, if not more than that. It’s nice to know that a film that you were a part of did well enough for makers to consider a sequel because they wouldn’t have considered a sequel if it hadn’t made enough noise…at least the first part so, that makes me feel good.”

She feels proud that her film is being made into a sequel.

Despite her love for acting, she hasn’t forgotten her modelling days.

“My heart will also always be here (in fashion). It’s where I started my career. Where I am today is because of my modelling days, so definitely I do acknowledge that and give complete credit.

“I enjoyed being a model. In fact at that time, I never thought that I wanted to be an actor. I was very happy being a model. When I tried it (acting) out, I enjoyed being an actor too. So whenever I get a chance to walk the ramp or do a shoot for a designer, I am very happy to take it up as it takes me back to where I started,” said the COCKTAIL actress.

It was just in March that she walked for designers Shyamal and Bhumika at a fashion show here.

She is also a favourite among the paparazzi which means that be it events or airports, she is always followed.

How does she nail the airport look?

“At 5 in the morning, I don’t think I am nailing it. I look at my pictures, I just feel like I just woke up, rolled out of my bed and reached the airport. But yeah, my personal style is quite casual, easy, breezy and very effortless.

“So, I feel like in that department, it’s something that comes naturally to me. I don’t make too much effort, especially for the airport because I feel like when you are travelling, you want to be comfortable, especially while taking a super early morning flight.

“There’s no time to wake up and start looking good at 4 a.m. I do feel the need to look presentable but other than that, I won’t overdress. I am usually all about flats and comfortable clothing,” she said.
