0

Actors Arjun Bijlani and Alisha Panwar along with the team of their show 'Ishq Mein Marjawan' left for Kullu-Manali in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday.

In the show, Aarohi (played by Alisha) escapes from jail in order to avenge herself.

Posing as Tara, Aarohi decides to go to Manali along with Deep (Arjun) because she wants to find out about her sister-in-law and nephew Nikku.

"It's the perfect time to shoot in Manali as it's snowing here and the city looks absolutely stunning," Arjun said in a statement.

"We have been given quite a hectic schedule with some rather intense scenes which truly will be a cliffhanger for the audience; a lot of the cards will be revealed here and we hope the viewers enjoy watching the mystery unfold on the show," he added.

Alisha, who is from a hilly region, loves "late winter in the north".

"I am very excited about this on-location shoot, both from a personal lens and also from the point of view of my character, Aarohi.

"I believe in life going full circle and for Aarohi, it was in the mountains that she had first fallen in love with Deep so it is only fair for her to try and end this charade in the hills itself."

"Ishq Mein Marjawan" is aired on Colors channel.

Neil Nitin Mukesh glad about carving niche in negative roles

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, who played a negative role in Rohit Shetty's GOLMAAL AGAIN, says he is glad about carving a niche for himself in the negative zone.

Neil, despite his chocolate boy looks, mostly features in negative characters in movie.

Talking about this inclination, Neil said: "I did negative roles from the beginning of my career. Be it in JOHNNY GADDAR, SAAT KHOON MAAF, DAVID… I don't look at roles as positive or negative. I just see that whether that character will create impact on screen or not, irrespective of screen time of that character.

"So it doesn't make difference to me. As an actor, I feel you need to have conviction when you go out there. At least, I am glad that in the aspect of negative roles, I have carved niche for myself."

Neil attended Atharva Foundation's special initiative to pay tribute to the Indian armed forces, along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, as well as Vikram Gokhale, Aftab Shivdasani, Kapil Dev, Madhur Bhandarkar and Rohini Hattangadi here on Wednesday.

Neil also spoke about his upcoming film SAAHO, a multi-lingual film starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor. Neil once again plays a negative character.

"‘Saaho' is shaping up really well. We are now preparing for action sequences of ‘Saaho'. Sujeeth is very good. He is only 26 years old but is a brilliant director. I gained weight for ‘Saaho' but now I have to reduce that. I am finding it a bit difficult. But I think that transformation will be fun," he said.

On Atharva Foundation's initiative where dignitaries felicitated some Indian soldiers and their families, Neil said: "I am grateful that Sunil Rane and Atharva Foundation invited me for this initiative. As an actor, I can only say that there is lot of difference between real and reel life and because of these people (Indian soldiers), we are living happily and beautifully."

Asked if he would like to play an army man in a film, Neil said: "Why not? It is not because the fact that I will get an opportunity to hold the gun or wear the uniform of an army officer, but if any filmmaker offers me role of an army man, then I would love to do it only to honour those people, who fought for us."

Apart from SAAHO, Neil will also be seen in FIRRKIE, along with Kay Kay Menon, Karan Singh Grover and Sandeepa Dhar.

Superstar and now a politician, Kamal Haasan will address the issues afflicting Tamil Nadu in his speech at Harvard University scheduled for February 10. 2018.

The icon has been invited by Harvard University to give a keynote on February 10th, 2018. This is the second time the legendary actor will be seen speaking at the prestigious B-School. He had earlier spoken at Harvard in 2016 on the topic of freedom of speech. This time Haasan will be speaking about Tamil Nadu and what are the issues plaguing the state at the annual Indian Conference of the University.

“The topic is Tamil Nadu. I chose to speak on it out of sheer necessity. Our state has sunk to the lowest depth. It affecting my dignity as a man, even more as a Tamilian.”

A few weeks away from announcing the name of his political party, Haasan is taking the issue to a big level so that people become aware of what is happening. “I yearn to see my state rise to the height it deserves. The rise of my state will translate into the rise of my nation. Harvard is a seat of learning like our Nalanda University. If only we had continued that tradition without any break, we would have been holding such seminars at least 200 years back. These platforms are important and can’t be neglected. This is going to be an engagement with more fortunate minds who availed an opportunity to seek knowledge. A place that dispenses knowledge, for money or free, is still a seat of wisdom. Having their ears, even though only momentarily, is a great opportunity,” explained Haasan.

Shibani Kashyap: I’m a constant warrior of independent music

Singer Shibani Kashyap, known for songs like 'Sajna aa bhi ja' and 'Zinda hoon main', says she has always supported independent music.

"I am the constant warrior of independent music. I am one of the few artists who is always standing by non-film music, now and then, because I believe it carves the identity of the artist more," Kashyap said in a statement.

"Artists like Euphoria, Indian Ocean, Kailash Kher, Rabbi Shergill are still standing strong in that field, and there are also a few others who have found the correct balance between film and independent music," she added.

The singer, who visited the Artist Aloud office here, feels that the representation of the Indian indie music industry is weaker than film music.

"It's not getting as much support as it should. After pop music's successful debut, Bollywood started adapting pop music, slowly pop music started creating trends and its presence," she added.

Kashyap cited the example of her song 'Sajna aa bhi ja', which was later selected for a film.

On the independent music community, she said: "There should be a bigger community for this niche music space, because there is so much cluster in Bollywood, of course social media and digital spaces are helping in a great way. Platforms like Artist Aloud, Hungama, Spotify, Gaana, are specially deployed for downloads and hearing new songs."

Her latest single is "Wanna be free", about urging people to break free from the shackles of social media. Its video features Richa Chadha.
