Tom Hardy gets tattoo designed by DiCaprio

0

Actor Tom Hardy has got LEO KNOWS ALL inked on his bicep two years after losing a bet with Leonardo DiCaprio who designed it.

Hardy, who features in this year's Oscar nominated movie DUNKIRK, says he had been putting off getting the tattoo due to DiCaprio's "s**tty handwriting", reports thesun.co.uk.

Both the actors had starred together in the 2015 film THE REVENANT. DiCaprio had then said Hardy would bag an Oscar nomination for it. Hardy disagreed and they decided that whoever lost the bet would get a tattoo of the winner's choosing.

Hardy received a Best Supporting Actor nomination in 2016, and despite not winning he lost the bet.

While Hardy has kept quiet about the statement for a while, a fan's selfie with him revealed the tattoo.

"Did you notice the 'Leo knows…' tattoo on his bicep? Wasn't that the bet?" one social media user wrote.

Another added: "Leo should be smiling now."

Back in 2015, after the Oscars, Hardy had said he hadn't got the tattoo done because DiCaprio's handwriting was so terrible.

"He wrote, in this really s***ty handwriting: ‘Leo knows everything'. I was like, ‘Okay, I'll get it done, but you have to write it properly.'"

The Academy Awards 2018 nomination list has eight nods for Hardy. The Oscars will air on Star Movies and Star Movies Select HD on March 5.

Actor Ranveer Singh, who is currently riding high on the success of his latest release PADMAAVAT, says it takes immense courage to direct a film of such a magnitude.

Ranveer on Tuesday treated his fans to a question and answer session, where one user asked him if he would ever write or direct a historical like PADMAAVAT, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

"It takes a lot of courage to helm a film and even more to helm one of such magnitude. I reckon it will be quite a few years before I become as brave and courageous as my maestro," he responded.

PADMAAVAT also features actors Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari and Jim Sarbh.

Asked about his experience of working with Jim, Ranveer said: "Special talent, great vibe, great sense of humour and intelligent. Exciting to collaborate with. Chilled out. Basically the perfect co-actor. Jim Sarbh blessed to have worked with him."

How challenging was it to come up with such a strong performance, asked a fan.

"I always relish a challenge," replied Ranveer, who has been lauded for his powerful performance as Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khilji in the magnum opus.

On his own performance, Ranveer said: "Im happy with it. I learned a lot during the shooting process. And growing and developing in my craft is important to me. So, yes. Im happy that I had this experience."

Ranveer said that his performance as Khilji helped him evolve as an artist.

The actor is now gearing up for his next GULLY BOY, directed by Zoya Akhtar.

"It's a journey of a youth who hails from a disenfranchised lot of society. It's a story very dear to my heart. Hope I can do my bit for the amazing new musical talent that we have in the country," he said.

Shah Rukh Khan: Nobody dare misbehave with women on my set

0

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, known for his chivalrous attitude, says nobody has dared to misbehave with a woman on his film sets.

The actor, who was feted with a Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum summit in Davos along with Hollywood celebrities Cate Blanchett and Elton John, spoke to BBC World News at length on gender equality in Bollywood and the cultural differences in India.

In the midst of the raging debate over sexual misconduct allegations against powerful men in Hollywood, Shah Rukh was asked if he has witnessed sexual misconduct in the Hindi film industry and done anything about it.

"At a level when I'm making films or working in films, we are very clear about the attitude to women. Even the smallest aspects, of the names coming first in title, which is not going to do anything, but the kind of respectability," Shah Rukh said on the "HARDtalk on BBC World News" show.

"Even this small thing needs to be done just to bring about the equality… Just see what we've reduced ourselves to. You know, to put a girl's name in front just to show what little guys we are, thinking of them as equals. And that is sad and that is strangely dichotomous when you're talking about creativity, and you have boys and girls working together.

"I have never personally, first hand and nobody, if I may say, nobody dared misbehave with a woman on my set, I am very clear on that," he added. A transcript of the interview was provided to IANS by BBC.

On inter-communal tensions and divisions that the world has been observing in modern-day India, the actor said: "There will be dissent for everything and I think, like you would also believe and we all believe, there has to be a discussion on it."

Shah Rukh believes there cannot be a radical standoff when there is dissent.

"I think you can have a discussion and then you can talk about it in our country – we are the biggest democracy – and if you are the biggest democracy, dissent is a part and parcel of that and as much is discussion.

"So, when you have a story and you know when you go out sometimes, there's dissent, but as a filmmaker, as a citizen of a country and the world, you know when there's dissent, can we just have a little bit of discussion about it and sort it out instead of you know taking standoff positions… So it is possible," he added.

Questioned if there is a kind of Hindu nationalism that is not fostering good inter-communal ties, Shah Rukh said: "Because of social media, whenever a certain thing, when small factions or fractions of things happen now, they seem a little bigger. But the beauty of all this is that within all this trolling and anger and people expressing themselves, they're all also connecting.

"I just see it on social media. I don't see it live anywhere and I would be wrong to comment on it that way, but I think if you have this kind of dissent or whatever if people claim it, I think just a bit of discussion especially, finally, if it's not going to be inclusive, everybody will suffer. But I think we're not at that stage at all in our country," he added.

The episode will air on Wednesday night.

Urvashi’s ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ will make you badly miss Himesh Reshammiya’s trademark crooning!

0

All our life we kept making a mockery out of Himesh Reshammiya’s nasal singing and even branded him as the ‘nasal singer’. Though his songs were chartbusters, a rage and because of that he developed a huge fan base, yet a section continued criticizing his singing.

However, after watching the first song ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ (the reprised version of Emraan Hashmi starrer AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE title track) from the upcoming film HATE STORY 4, fourth installment of HATE STORY franchise, that was released today, it will make his detractors sing praises of Himesh’s trademark crooning, for once.

‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ was that one song that earned Himesh the desired stardom and made him a household name. Himesh became a synonym with the track. The song was immensely popular and continued to top the charts for several weeks. In fact even today the song is loved by his admirers, music lovers. But the upgraded version in HATE STORY 4 lacks lustre. Even Urvashi Rautela’s, who features in the song, sexy oomph, raunchy moves & grooves doesn’t appeal us. In fact, the new version is nowhere close to Himesh’s ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ inimitable charm!

All we are served is Urvashi’s titillating moves right from frame one which overshadows the charisma of the song ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’. Even the music of the recreated number by Tanishk Bagchi, is not that happening as compared to its original song.

The song has been crooned by Neha Kakkar, while lyrics are penned by Manoj Muntashir. The film is directed by Vishal Pandya, who earlier made second and third installments of the franchsie.

Indeed the Urvashi Rautela number Aashiq Nahi Banaya!

Sooraj Pancholi faces abetment charges in Jiah Khan suicide

0

The trial in actress Jiah Khan's suicide is expected to begin in mid-February after a Mumbai court framed charges against her boyfriend and Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi for abetting the 2013 death.

The trial will happen nearly five years after the 25-year old Jiah was found hanging in the bedroom of her flat in Juhu on June 3, 2013 by her mother Rabia Khan.

Shortly after that, Sooraj was arrested and charged with abetment following complaints by her family and others. He was later released on bail.

Sessions Judge K.D. Shirbhate on Tuesday framed the charge of abetment to suicide against Sooraj, who was present in the court. It attracts a maximum jail term of 10 years.

Earlier, Mumbai Police had filed a 450-page charge sheet in January 2014.

However, in October 2013, following a plea in the Bombay High Court by Rabia Khan, alleging Jiah's murder, the case was transferred to the CBI which filed its chargesheet in December 2015 but ruled out murder.

The CBI said a three-page note penned by Jiah, earlier recovered by police on June 10, 2013, gave details of her intimate relationship with Sooraj, the physical abuse as well as the mental and physical tortures allegedly by him which drove her to suicide.

Though the letter was not signed by Jiah nor addressed to Sooraj, the CBI said it established that he had "ruined" her life and linked him to the suicide. The agency said he had "hidden facts and fabricated information during his interrogation".

The CBI chargesheet dwells at length on a painful abortion Jiah underwent in her fourth week of pregnancy in January 2013 — which she mentioned in her three-page note.

The US-born Jiah was known for playing significant roles in films like NISHABD, GHAJINI and HOUSEFULL with top actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and others.

Sooraj, who was launched in the 2015 Bollywood film HERO, is the son of veteran Bollywood actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab.

Oh no! Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 won’t be releasing even in April

0

Off late every filmmaker in B-town is trying their best to have a clear window at Box-office for a smooth release of their film. Early this year we saw how the uncertainty regarding Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus PADMAAVAT’s release led to reshuffling of release date of several other films as nobody wants to clash their film with others’.

Now release of another highly anticipated film 2.0 starring Megastar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar has been postponed yet again. Earlier the film was supposed to hit the silver screens in Diwali last year but later it got shifted to 26 January and then to April 2018, however now reports are doing the rounds that the film won’t be releasing in April as well!

Talking about reason behind the film being postponed again a source close to the film was quoted saying in Firstpost as, “The VFX work is taking longer than expected because it has been distributed to many studios across the globe. The film has around 11000 VFX shots and each shot is being worked upon with lot of care. Shankar sir doesn’t want to compromise on the output, therefore, he doesn’t mind if the film doesn’t get completed on time for April release. The team is eyeing Independence Day weekend release. August 15 falls on a Wednesday, so the team wants to cash in on that weekend. The final date is still being worked out.”

Directed by S Shankar, 2.0 is sequel of ROBOT (2010) starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Also the film is first Indian film to be directly shot in 3D. While Rajinikanth will reprise his role in the sequel, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson are the new addition to in the star cast of this second installment.

We wonder when the makers of the film are going to make any official announcement regarding the final release date of this film.
