Deepika Padukone is Now Officially a Mental Health Ambassador: Here’s What It Means!

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been appointed India’s first-ever Mental Health Ambassador by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. This was an historic move on World Mental Health Day, which underscores the growing national focus on mental health.

Deepika, an outspoken advocate of mental health through her LiveLoveLaugh foundation, met Union Health Minister JP Nadda to seal the tie-up. Following the meeting, the actress tweeted about how grateful she was and how committed she is towards the cause.

On World Mental Health Day, I am blessed to be named the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s first-ever Mental Health Ambassador,” Deepika stated. “With our Hon. Prime Minister @narendramodi at the helm, our nation has made genuine efforts to place mental health at the forefront of public health.”.

Having openly spoken about her own battle with depression, Deepika highlighted the progress made through her foundation over the past decade. “I’ve seen how much is possible when we come together to build a mentally healthy India. I look forward to working under the guidance of Shri @jpnaddaofficial and the @mohfwindia to further strengthen India’s mental health framework,” she added.

Deepika will be speaking about awareness, reduction of stigma, and encouraging individuals to seek assistance in her position as Mental Health Ambassador. She will also be supporting government initiatives like Tele MANAS, which is aimed at making mental health assistance more readily available across India.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda received the partnership, stating, “The tie-up with Ms Deepika Padukone will help propagate awareness on mental health issues in India to a large extent, make conversation a regular thing, reduce stigma, and put mental health as an integral part of public health.”

Deepika’s joining is a landmark step towards establishing a more inclusive, compassionate, and supportive mental health landscape in India.

Her stunning party attire along with her defensive body language has left people in wonder and speculation that she could be pregnant with her second child.

Sonam Kapoor and husband Anand Ahuja are reportedly going to have their second child and that she is in her second trimester and pregnant, as per a report by Pinkvilla. The couple got married in May 2018, and this would be their first child, Vayu, who was born in August 2022. Though no family member has confirmed the news so far, sources believe that there would be a chance of an official announcement being made in the near future.

The actress recently also joined her cousin Anshula Kapoor’s engagement ceremony in Mumbai. She once again evaded the paparazzi by arranging a photo shoot, with one of the team members reportedly requesting the photographers to bring down the cameras to respect her privacy. The trailer for Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas, a crime thriller series, has been launched before its Zee5 launch on October 17. The series features Arshad Warsi and Jitendra Kumar as the leading actors who create an interesting web of suspense, mystery, and psychological complexity.

Arshad Warsi returns in a thriller, this time as Inspector Vishwas Bhagwat, an aging and seasoned cop who is sent to Robertsganj, Uttar Pradesh, as punishment. No sooner has he got there than he is drawn into a brutal case when a desperate father gets him to locate his missing daughter. Bhagwat enquires, and he is faced with a ghastly trend—a number of girls have gone missing under comparable conditions, which means that there is a serial killer on the loose.

Jitendra Kumar plays Sameer, a boy-next-door kind of character, and he makes his entrance in the trailer in a humorous scene, flirting with a girl. But his behavior changes when he gets arrested by Bhagwat, and his true nature begins to surface. Having played friendly common man roles in his earlier films, Kumar steps into unexplored territory with a darker and more nuanced performance. The trailer is thrilling—is Sameer a wrongly accused innocent victim or a merciless killer?
