Dhanush has formally completed shooting for his fourth directorial outing, Idly Kadai. The production banner Wunderbar Films made the announcement on social media with a congratulatory post and a happy group photo with Dhanush and the cast and crew. Dhanush wore a brown sweatshirt and white pants and smiled warmly for the camera. Producer Akash Baskaran also joined in the celebration. The declaration stated, “It’s time to call it a WRAP for #IdlyKadai ❤️ See you in theatres on the 1st of October. Exciting updates soon!
Originally, Idly Kadai was going to conflict with Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly. But to steer clear of the conflict, the makers delayed the release to Diwali 2025, for a solo and majestic entry. The movie has a star-studded cast consisting of Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Prakash Raj, Sathyaraj, and Parthiban.

Idly Kadai created headlines earlier this month when a fire occurred on the set of the film in Anupapatti village, Theni district. The accident occurred just a few days after the team moved to a new site that replicated a narrow market street. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries, and the team vacated the spot instantly. The authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire.

Dhanush’s Upcoming ProjectsApart from Idly Kadai, Dhanush has a busy schedule coming up. He is preparing for the release of Kuberaa, which is a social thriller starring Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna. Recently, the first single, Poyivaa Nanba, sung by Dhanush, was released and saw an amazing response. Dhanush has also been filming for Tere Ishk Mein, in which he will be paired with Kriti Sanon.
