Siva’s film Kanguva, starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, hit theaters on November 14. Suriya’s brother, actor Karthi, makes a special appearance, and his dual roles have been widely discussed online.

While Kanguva received mixed reviews, Karthi’s climactic cameo has drawn much attention, with fans sharing photos and videos of his scenes on X (formerly Twitter), hinting at a potential sequel, Kanguva 2. One fan shared a still showing Suriya and Karthi in dual roles as warriors and modern-day men, captioning it, “Kanguva on surprise cameo Karthi sir mind blowing waiting for part 2…” Another fan wrote, “Suriya vs Karthi #Kanguva2.”

One image of Karthi shows him with a tattooed forehead, gold teeth, and spiked hair, while another video depicts him with long hair, light eyes, and a bloody tattooed look, labeled “The Original Ruthless Aggressive Villain Role.”

Fans highlighted scenes like the “Crocodile Fight Sequence” and Karthi’s entrance as film highlights. One fan wrote, “The theater went crazy for the climax with #Suriya’s six-pack reveal! Karthi’s Double Dhamaka cameo adds excitement and perfectly sets up Part 2.” Another, less impressed, commented, “Kanguva is like a 2.5-hour trailer for Kanguva 2. Only the last 20 minutes were good. 2.25/5.”

Some fans compared Karthi’s cameo to Suriya’s memorable role in Vikram, writing, “Much like how Suriya saved Vikram, Karthi’s cameo saves Kanguva. Overall, it’s an above-average movie.”

Before its release, Karthi sent best wishes to the team, saying, “A very passionate team has moved mountains to create this mammoth film #Kanguva to entertain our beloved audience. My prayers for their hard work to pay off big time,” adding, “Heartfelt wishes to the ‘anbaana’ fans supporting this film.”

Kanguva was released in 2D and 3D across South Indian languages and Hindi and has so far seen a range of reviews online.
