When Anuj Sachdeva focused on feminine moves for Kapali's role in 'Dhruv Tara'

Anuj Sachdeva discussed the challenges he faced while preparing for and playing the role of 'Kapali' in the show 'Dhruv Tara-Samay Sadi Se Pare'

Anuj Sachdeva, the actor portraying two contrasting characters in the show ‘Dhruv Tara-Samay Sadi Se Pare,’ recently discussed the challenges he faced while preparing for and playing the role of ‘Kapali.’ Kapali, a character introduced as a new twist in the series, is actually the disguised version of Maan Singh, aiming to execute a sinister plan.

Anuj highlighted the extensive process required to transform into Kapali, including the unique appearance and makeup, which took about two hours each time. One notable aspect was adapting a walk with a slightly more feminine touch, a characteristic specific to Kapali. Additionally, he needed to alter his voice significantly to distinguish it from his natural voice used for Maan Singh’s character, opting for a high-pitched tone to achieve this effect.

The physical transformation into Kapali involved wearing a saree, a daily shaving routine, extensive makeup, donning jewelry, and dealing with the discomfort of wearing a wig. Despite the challenges, Anuj expressed satisfaction with the character’s vibrant appearance on screen and acknowledged the efforts of women who manage such elaborate looks daily.

Moreover, Anuj discussed the difficulty of transitioning between the two roles within the limited timeframe of television production. Switching between Maan Singh and Kapali demanded adjustments in mannerisms, walk, voice, and appearance, posing a significant challenge for him as an actor.

Overall, Anuj Sachdeva’s portrayal of both Maan Singh and Kapali in ‘Dhruv Tara-Samay Sadi Se Pare’ underscores his versatility and dedication to his craft, despite the demanding nature of the roles.

‘Dhruv Tara’ airs on Sony SAB.
