Actress Hansika Motwani is in controversy after her brother, Prashant Motwani, was accused of domestic violence by his wife, television actress Muskan Nancy James. Muskan has filed an FIR against Prashant, Hansika, and their mother, Mona Motwani, at Amboli Police Station in Mumbai. The charges pressed against the Motwani family include sections 498-A(caused injury), 323, 504, 506, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
Allegations
Muskan alleged that Hansika and her mother intervened to break her marriage with Prashant. She moved a complaint for domestic violence against Prashant under which she suffered from Bell’s Palsy, a condition that causes temporary facial paralysis. Muskan claimed that the family demanded expensive gifts and money from her and involved themselves in petty property frauds.
Legal Proceedings
In her statement to E times, Muskan confirmed that she has filed a case but on further comment on the matter she pleaded silence as it was sub judice: “I have taken legal action now. At this point, I am not at liberty to reply further.”
Marriage and Separation
Muskan and Prashant wed in 2020 but have allegedly been separated since 2022, according to Muskan. Muskan says she breaks her silence about these hardship years on end. Meanwhile, the case has garnered huge media attention, while Hansika Motwani and her family are yet to come up with an official clarification regarding the allegations. With the matter now being truly in the hands of the law, further developments are awaited.
