Rajeev Khandelwal is all set to take audiences on an exhilarating adventure with his upcoming series, The Secrets of the Shiledars. The much-anticipated Disney+ Hotstar original has already created a buzz, with fans calling it a “desi Indiana Jones”.
On Monday, Disney+ Hotstar dropped the thrilling trailer on social media, writing, “Itihaas ke panno mein chupa hai ek aisa raaz, jo badal sakta hai sab kuch… All Episodes of #HotstarSpecials #TheSecretOfTheShiledars will be streaming from Jan 31.”

The trailer showcases Rajeev Khandelwal as he learns about the Shiledars the valiant soldiers who once safeguarded Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s treasure. He embarks on a high-stakes mission with his team, including Sai Tamhankar, to locate the hidden treasure. However, their journey is fraught with danger as they face adversaries who claim ownership of the legendary riches. Along the way, the protagonist uncovers secrets of Maratha history, adding an intriguing historical twist to the adventure.
The internet quickly drew comparisons between The Secrets of the Shiledars and iconic Hollywood adventure films. A user commented, “It gave me Indiana Jones vibes the moment the word ‘khazana’ came up.” Another remarked, “Looks like a mix of Indiana Jones and Nicolas Cage’s National Treasure.”
Helmed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the series boasts a stellar cast including Sai Tamhankar, Gaurav Amlani, and Ashish Vidyarthi . It is based on the book Pratipashchandra and is set to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from January 31, 2025.
