Actor Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee had just got married on 14 February, Valentine’s Day, in an intimate wedding ceremony at the Mumbai home of Prateik’s late mother, legendary actress Smita Patil. However, speculation began arising due to the absence of Prateik’s father Raj Babbar and step-siblings Juhi and Arya Babbar, which gave rise to questions about whether there were any differences within the Babbar family.
Priya Banerjee’s Reaction on the Non-Attendance of the Babbar Family: Regarding the news on the absent family members, Priya Banerjee stated that only those who mattered to them attended their wedding. Speaking to Hindustan Times, she, said, “All the elder members of our family were present at our wedding. My parents; Prateik’s aunts and grandmothers, who were responsible for raising Prateik, were there. All those we would regard as family members were there.” Priya vehemently refuted the rumors and reiterated that the ceremony had taken place as the couple desired.
Weddings: Special Moments in Settings of Importance
While talking about its significance Priya said that everything was just as she and Prateik had imagined. Her day was full of emotions, and even more so because they were able to marry in Prateik’s mother’s house. Priya emphasized the deep emotional connection to the house, expressing that Smita Patil bought it with the dream of raising Prateik there, a dream that was now tragically unfulfilled.
Priya said: “We think the home is a blessing from her; she wanted our lives to begin from here.” The home wedding of Smita Patil added an emotional note to the ceremony as it opened a new life for the couple in Prateik’s late mother’s abode.
