After much anticipation and several delays, Jr NTR’s much-awaited film with director Prashanth Neel has officially begun production. The film, currently referred to as NTR Neel, marks a significant collaboration between the popular actor and the director known for his success with KGF and Kantara. The production house, Mythri Movie Makers, confirmed the start of the shoot on Thursday through a post on social media.
A Glimpse of the Set
The production house shared an intriguing picture from the sets, showing Prashanth Neel directing a scene. The image features him standing on a vehicle while extras are positioned behind a police barricade. A damaged Ambassador car, likely part of the action sequence, can be seen on the road with scattered bicycles and a fire in the background. The post teased fans, stating, “The SOIL finally welcomes its REIGN to leave a MARK in the HISTORY books of Indian Cinema!” signaling an action-packed and intense narrative. Jr NTR also took to Instagram to share his excitement, writing, “And it begins… #NTRNeel.”

Delayed Start and Release Date
The film was officially announced in 2022 on Jr NTR’s birthday, generating massive excitement among fans. Although production was initially planned for 2023, it faced several delays. A pooja ceremony was held in August 2023, but filming only began recently in February 2025. The movie is currently slated for release in 2026, with producers hinting that the film will create a huge impact on the Indian cinema landscape. However, it remains to be seen if the release will meet the scheduled date.
Jr NTR’s Bollywood Debut
Aside from NTR Neel, Jr NTR is gearing up for his Bollywood debut with War 2, where he will share the screen with Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. Fans are eagerly awaiting his dual venture in both the South and Bollywood film industries.
