After leaving audiences on the brink of their seats, House of the Dragon returns for its third season, and it’s looking highly anticipated. Production is well underway, featuring a returning cast and some big new names throwing their hats into the ring. As with its first two seasons, House of the Dragon will have eight episodes.

New Cast Members
Two new additions to the cast have been revealed for the next season. Tommy Flanagan, who is best recognized for his work in Sons of Anarchy, will play Ser Roderick Dustin. Dan Fogler, who is most well-known for working on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, will play Ser Torrhen Manderly. The two new characters are going to heat up the drama, bringing more tension to the already dramatic world of Westeros.

Directorial Skill
Season 3 also boasts a talented lineup of directors: Clare Kilner, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Andrij Parekh, and Loni Peristere. With such a skilled group behind the camera, this next season is sure to provide high-level storytelling and stunning visuals.
Returning Cast
The star-studded cast will be headed by Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, and several others. These returning actors will again bring to life their iconic characters, continuing the rich history set in George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood.
Release Date
Filming for Season 3 has officially commenced, with fans waiting with bated breath for its release in 2026. With showrunner Ryan Condal and co-creator George R.R. Martin at the helm, House of the Dragon is gaining momentum for another action-packed installment in the Targaryen saga.
