Actor Vishnu Manchu is preparing for the release of his much-awaited mythological drama, Kannappa. Starring veteran actor Mohan Babu alongside him, the movie also boasts a few prominent names in cameo appearances. Directed by an industry-leading team, Kannappa is scheduled to be released on June 27, after its release date was pushed back from April 25. The movie has generated interest thanks to its novel plot and star cast.

CM Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath Visit
Before the movie release, the choreographer Prabhu Deva and director Vishnu Manchu visited the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to clarify the movie discussion. The cast explained the script and theme during the meeting with the Chief Minister. As an expression of their gratitude, CM Yogi Adityanath was gifted by them a picture of Lord Vishnu and more gifts. A video posted by ANI reveals the CM signing the poster of Kannappa with a smile and taking photos with the crew. Vishnu Manchu, wearing a grey T-shirt, blue jeans, and a beaded necklace, fit the bill of the spiritual theme of the film, while Prabhu Deva wore a pink T-shirt and white pants.

Storyline and Star Cast
Kannappa is a pan-India mythological drama that is inspired by the legend of Kannappa, a dedicated hunter who sacrifices his own eyes to a Shiva Lingam as an act of worship. Touched by this act, Lord Shiva appears and gives him back his eyesight. The movie has an ensemble cast, with Mohanlal playing Kirata, Akshay Kumar playing Lord Shiva, Prabhas playing Rudra, and Kajal Aggarwal playing Goddess Parvati. The movie has been reportedly produced on a budget of ₹200 crore, fueling the anticipation for its release.
The rich plot of the movie, coupled with a great cast and huge investment, has catapulted Kannappa to the list of most anticipated movies of the year.
