New Dragons Rise: Meet the Warriors Who’ll Shake Westeros in House of the Dragon Season 3

In spite of being criticized for its slow pace and unnecessary subplots, House of the Dragon is going ahead with Season 3, officially in production now. Season 2, which was received with a combination of praise and disappointment, hasn’t stopped HBO from going ahead with the Game of Thrones prequel series based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood. The third season is expected to release in 2026.

New Faces to Add Drama and Depth
To heighten the drama and action, the producers have revealed three big cast additions: Barry Sloane, Tom Cullen, and Joplin Sibtain. These new faces are bound to take on important roles in the growing conflict between the Greens and Blacks.

Tom Cullen will play Ser Luthor Largent, a powerful knight of the City Watch, with stories saying he killed a warhorse with one punch. Joplin Sibtain plays Ser Jon “Bold” Roxton, the lord of House Roxton, who carries the Valyrian steel sword Orphan Maker and serves King Aegon II.

Returning Cast and Larger Westeros Universe
Emma D’Arcy, the actress who plays Queen Rhaenyra, recently announced the beginning of filming via social media. Among the returning cast are Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, and others.

Meanwhile, Westeros enthusiasts can look forward to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, another prequel series set to premiere later this year, expanding the Game of Thrones universe.
