Maintaining a high-profile career alongside a very personal relationship is no cakewalk, particularly when you’re Anushka Sharma, one of the stars of Bollywood, and married to Virat Kohli, one of the world’s best cricketers. In a revealing disclosure, Anushka once bared all about how tough things were in the initial phases of her marriage because of their hectic professional schedules.
We spent only 21 days together in the first six months of our marriage,” Anushka revealed to Vogue India, pointing out that their lives were so busy. As Virat is on the road with the team most of the time and Anushka is filming movies, even having a single meal together was a special and precious moment. “When I go see him abroad, it’s not a holiday it’s to have that one meal together.”. Time is valuable,” she continued, knocking down the assumption that their visits to one another were from-the-beach-vacations. “One of us is always working,” she explained.
In a moving conversation with Simi Garewal again, Anushka spoke about how consecutive shoots for films such as Sui Dhaaga and Zero made her exhausted just a few days after her wedding. “I told my team I don’t even want to read anything right now,” she remembered, opting to keep away and work on herself.

The couple has only become stronger since, particularly as they adopted parenthood. The couple had their daughter Vamika in 2021 and son Akaay in 2024, cementing the couple’s unity even further and common agendas.
In spite of all the trials, their path is an encouraging testament to love, respect, and balance amidst uncompromising professional expectations.
