Kesari Veer Review: Sooraj Pancholi’s strong comeback with the story of a brave warrior

Kesari Veer is a historical film based on the story of brave Hamirji Gohil, who risked his life while protecting the Somnath temple. It is said that Somnath temple was attacked 17 times. The film Veer Kesari is based on one of those attacks. It depicts the story inspired by the story of Veer Hamir Ji, who along with his army of 200 soldiers, stopped thousands of enemy soldiers for 11 days. Sooraj Pancholi is making a comeback with this film. Vivek Oberoi and Sunil Shetty are also playing important roles in the film.

Everyone’s hard work is evident from the first scene to the last scene of the film. When the film shows the saga of Hamir ji, like the cruelty of Zafar Khan and the attack on Somnath, the audience connects with the story. The climax war scene is quite powerful and gives a glimpse of ‘Chhava’.

Sooraj Pancholi has put his heart and soul into the role of Hamir ji. His physical transformation, action and emotional scenes – all reflect his hard work. Sunil Shetty has maintained balance as Vegda ji. Vivek Oberoi’s role as Zafar Khan is the strongest link of the film. He scares and also creates hatred.

Talking about visual effects and cinematography, they are quite good. The visuals look good on screen. The action scenes look great. Songs like ‘Shambhu Har-Har’ and ‘Kesari Bandhan’ are also impressive. But director Prince Dhiman’s TV background tries to make every scene grand – sometimes this is reflected in the excessive aerial shots. Especially in the scene where the mountain falls on Vegda ji, the fake sets are clearly visible. The real story of Veer Hamir Ji, along with his army of 200 soldiers, stopping thousands of enemy soldiers for 11 days is so inspiring that even if it was shown without any pomp and show, it would have been effective. But the forced romance and emotional tracks in the film have reduced its seriousness a bit and I feel that the attempt of adding romance and emotional drama and action to the story is not good.

The length of the film Veer Kesari is 2 hours 40 minutes which is too much. Due to this length the film seems stretched. Sooraj Pancholi is making a comeback with this film. Every scene of the film shows that he has worked really hard. The story of the film is inspiring.
