A cinematic milestone tribute is underway as the life of Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, India’s “Missile Man” and People’s President, is being reimagined on the silver screen in a grand biopic called Wings of Fire. National Award-winning actor Dhanush is to play the iconic scientist-statesman in what promises to be a landmark moment in Indian and world cinema.
A Visionary Story Led by Visionary Filmmakers
National Award-winning director Om Raut, who previously directed blockbuster Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, directs the film. Partnering with power producers Abhishek Agarwal (The Kashmir Files) and Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, Wings of Fire is going to be a movie event. The script is written by Saiwyn Quadras, celebrated for sensitive biopics such as Neerja, Maidaan, and Parmanu.
This ambitious film was unveiled at the glamorous Cannes Film Festival with a focus on its international appeal. Raut called it the biggest art experience of his life, labeling Kalam “a man who rose above politics and pettiness” and whose life provides a universal message of education, innovation, and service.
