What to Expect in Season 2

The first season, which premiered in September 2024, introduced viewers to the unlikely romance between Joanne, a bold and outspoken podcaster, and Noah, an unconventional rabbi. Inspired loosely by creator Erin Foster’s real-life experiences, the show ended on an emotional cliffhanger when Joanne admitted she wasn’t ready to convert to Judaism. Season 2 is expected to pick up right where the story left off, delving deeper into the couple’s relationship and the personal and cultural obstacles they continue to face.

Returning Favorites and New Faces

Along with Bell and Brody, the original cast will return, including Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman. Season 2 also welcomes exciting guest stars such as Leighton Meester, Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, and Arian Moayed, adding fresh energy to the beloved series.

Rom-Com With Depth

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Kristen Bell shared why the series stands out among rom-coms: “There are some very complex issues at play that harken back to Romeo and Juliet, where you want them so badly to be together, you want the world to disappear for them.” With love, faith, and laughter at its core, Nobody Wants This is poised to charm viewers all over again this fall.
