Television actor Shoaib Ibrahim gave a heartfelt health update on his wife, actress Dipika Kakar, who had just gone through a crucial 14-hour surgery after being diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer. Actor Dipika plays the role of Avni in Sasural Simar Ka. Dipika is recovering in the ICU, according to her current condition, which is said to be stable.
A Long Surgery, But A Positive Step Forward
Shaking for his Instagram stories on Tuesday, June 3, Shoaib shared that Dipika had a marathon surgery and is now in observation in the ICU. “Hello all, apologies I couldn’t give you an update last night, it was a long one. She was in OT for 14 hours. But Alhamdulillah, all went well,” he captioned. “Dipi is in ICU now.”. She’s in a little pain right now but she’s stable and fine. Thanks to all of you dil se for love, prayers and support.
The news is welcome relief for fans and well-wishers who have been worried ever since Dipika was diagnosed with cancer last month.
Diagnosis and Emotional Reveal
In May, Dipika Kakar left her fans in shock when she posted that she was fighting stage 2 malignant liver cancer. Writing in a tearful Instagram post, she recounted how what started as a bad stomach pain brought with it the news of a tumour “the size of a tennis ball” in her liver. “Discovering that the tumour is second stage malignant (cancerous) … it has been one of the toughest times we have witnessed, lived!” she wrote.

In spite of the tragic diagnosis, Dipika showed unwavering determination and belief. “I am all positive and determined to combat this and emerge stronger InshaAllah!” she posted, thanking family and fans for encouragement.
Hope During the Darkest Time
Shoaib Ibrahim has stood by Dipika’s side during the ordeal, keeping fans updated on a regular basis through social media and their YouTube channel. In a latest video, he termed the experience as “the most challenging phase” of their lives but was optimistic about her recovery. “Alhamdulillah, thanks to the grace of Allah, the scan report turned out to be clear,” he said, noting that the cancerous growth had not spread beyond the tumour. “Once the tumour is removed surgically, Inshallah, things will improve.” As Dipika recovered further, her fans from all over the country sent their prayers, wishing for her to be strong and recover fully.
