The trailer for Anurag Basu’s highly anticipated movie, Metro In Dino, was released today, and from what it looks like, it’s going to be an emotional and relatable look at contemporary relationships. The narrative observes the interconnected lives of four couples as they experience love, loss, and life-changing decisions in the midst of a bustling, constantly changing city.
As the third installment of Basu’s hyperlinked series, Metro In Dino has the same cinematic style as his acclaimed 2007 film, Life in a. Metro. But this time, the stakes are bigger, and the city’s pulsating backdrop has an even larger role to play, as it depicts the chaos and comfort that it offers to its dwellers.
The trailer is full of touching moments, from tender romances to cringe-worthy reconciliations. It captures the beauty of falling in love with the same man time and time again, against the sweeping backdrop of a marvelous city skyline that becomes a supporting character in its own right.
The movie has a star-studded cast of Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Neena Gupta each with a character that connects to real-life issues and emotional depth.
Earlier this week, the lead track of the film, “Zamaana Lage,” was released at a starry event attended by the cast, director Anurag Basu, producer Bhushan Kumar, music mastermind Pritam, and singers Shashwat Singh, Papon, and Raghav Chaitanya. The movie is another musical outing between Basu and Pritam, and it continues their tradition of evergreen soundtracks.
Released by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series along with Anurag Basu Productions, Metro In Dino will release on July 4, 2025, and it has a promise of a soulful commentary on love, loss, and life in the city today.
