Deepika Padukone’s Future Secure! Atlee’s Film Role Not Affected by Work Hours Rumors

Deepika Padukone's Role in Atlee's Film: The Truth Behind the Rumors

After her exit from Kalki 2 and Spirit, Deepika Padukone continues to headline major projects, including King with Shah Rukh Khan and a high-budget action entertainer with Allu Arjun, directed by Atlee (tentatively titled AA22xA6). While she’s currently shooting with SRK for King, recent media reports claimed that her role in Atlee’s film had been trimmed, allegedly due to her demand for shorter work hours. However, an insider has dismissed these rumours.

According to a report by Mid-Day, Deepika’s role in Atlee’s project remains unchanged since she signed on in June. “There is no truth to the rumours that her screen time has been reduced,” a source revealed. “She has a fierce and crucial role that’s central to both the first and second acts of the film.” Deepika is expected to begin shooting later this month and has allotted dates from late October to December-end.

The first shooting schedule will focus on establishing her character, followed by major action sequences in November. In December, the team will shift to the UAE, where Deepika and Allu Arjun will film emotional and pivotal mid-film scenes.

Her exit from Kalki 2 was reportedly due to disagreements over pay and work hours, with reports stating she requested a 25% fee hike and a 7-hour work shift post-motherhood. Similar reasons were cited for her removal from Spirit.

Despite the speculation, Deepika’s presence in AA22xA6 remains strong. The film marks her first collaboration with Allu Arjun and Atlee. Allu Arjun, speaking about the project, shared his excitement: “I like the idea Atlee told me. It matches my aspirations, and we aim to deliver a new visual spectacle for Indian cinema.”
