Ranveer Singh is ready to enter new cinematic domains with a high-concept post-apocalyptic zombie movie provisionally titled Pralay. The actor is already in advanced talks with director Jai Mehta for the ambitious project, which is being produced by Applause Entertainment. The film will go on floors in the second half of 2026 after Ranveer is done with his commitments for Don 3.
As per someone close to the project, Pralay will take place in a world devastated by a never-before-seen calamity a combination of natural disaster and man-made upheaval. “The title ‘Pralay’ is absolutely in sync with the story. It’s a zombie apocalypse-based film, but the film itself is a human drama at its core.”. It is about how much one man will do to keep his family safe under horrific conditions,” the source said.
The film promises to be one of the biggest technically challenging films of Ranveer’s life. The producers are already knee-deep into pre-production, looking to create a richly detailed and fully immersive world that has never been created for an Indian film before. Taking cues from international blockbusters such as World War Z and I Am Legend, Pralay is being conceived as a survival thriller with depth of emotion, coupled with massive action and horror.
Ranveer, a versatile actor with a brooding screen presence, is said to be extremely passionate about the movie. “He is an integral part of every creative brainstorming session, from developing the script to building the world,” the insider divulged. The producers are also negotiating with one of the top A-list heroines to pair with Ranveer, although that too remains a secret.

This shall be Ranveer’s proper entry into the zombie genre for the first time, bringing a new angle to his otherwise versatile body of work. Prior to venturing into the universe of Pralay, the actor shall be spotted in Dhurandhar, then Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, where he shall play the role of the legendary title character.
